Extended File Naming Capabilities:

Say goodbye to Caseware Binder file naming limitations. You can now add additional characters to file names within iChannel.

Manual Sweep

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Our IChannel Development team has enhanced the Manual Sweep tool, making it easier and quicker for users to clear data or tasks efficiently. These improvements result in a better user experience and increased productivity.

  • Additionally, we have made back-end enhancements to streamline and optimize the manuscript process. Users will now receive an email notification upon the sweep's completion or failure.

Client Portal - 2FA

  • We’re thrilled to unveil a game-changing feature for Portal 2FA: the ‘Remember this computer’ option! Now, your clients can breeze through logins on trusted devices without repeatedly entering 2FA codes, enjoying a faster and smoother experience while keeping your security intact.

Improved UI Experience

  • We’ve significantly enhanced our product to ensure the best UI experience when working with iChannel modules, pages, and screens. Our improved UI now adapts seamlessly, providing an optimal viewing experience that enhances usability and efficiency.

SQL Stored Procedures

  • The Channel Product Development Team has fine-tuned the SQL stored procedures, enabling them to handle more requests simultaneously. This enhancement significantly reduces load times, resulting in a smoother and more efficient user experience.

Routing

  • New in V5.1.0, our team worked to enhance the backend services to improve overall system performance in the Auto and Manual Routing tools.

File Naming Convention

  • Previously, firm users faced limitations when adding descriptions to file names. Now, with the ability to create longer and more detailed file names, users can quickly identify and organize files in client areas. This enhancement allows users to tailor file names to their workflow, significantly boosting efficiency and productivity.

Accept Files

 

 

  • We’ve enhanced the user experience for publishing documents. Previously, when a firm user published only a subset of selected documents, the system would incorrectly return to the client file area instead of the Add page screen. Now, users will remain on the Accept page until all documents have been accepted, ensuring a smoother and more intuitive workflow.

Move/Rename

  • An issue was reported when a firm user would access the Move/Rename feature, the category structure if the move and/or rename required a category change to the file(s). This release has now resolved this issue as the category section now appears.

Assign Files to a User - Incorrect Icon displayed.

 

  • We have resolved an issue where the “assigning a file” document icon would not display correctly when a firm user assigned a document to another user. With this fix, users will see the correct assigned file icon, enhancing clarity and ensuring a smoother, more intuitive experience.

 

Manual Routing

  • To enhance the user experience, the Product team removed the reminder option after closing the new routing pop-up for manual routing.

Client Logos

  • Logos placed in IChannel will now be appropriately set to the correct size.

Discussion Tab

  • We have resolved a previous UI limitation that prevented the Discussion tab from being viewed when the email section was expanded. Users can seamlessly access the Discussion tab regardless of the email section’s state, enhancing usability and streamlining workflow.

Sending a Document

  • We have resolved an issue that sometimes affects users when downloading documents to send to clients. The Product team identified a backend issue in the Advanced settings section and has now fixed it. This resolution ensures a smoother and more reliable document downloading experience for users.

Request Files: Pending Status

  • We’ve improved the Request list feature to enhance user visibility. When an item is created, the Pending status displays a visual check, making it easier for users to track the status at a glance.

Portal Accept files: Edit properties

  • In prior releases, the user couldn’t edit the file properties when the portal accepted a file. This issue has been resolved.

 

My Task Widget: Mark tasks as completed

  • We’ve enhanced the user experience when working on tasks. Users can now mark others’ tasks as completed directly from the My Task Widget, streamlining task management and boosting productivity.

 

Retention: Update the Retention policy

  • When a file is accepted to a client file area, the ability to overwrite the set Retention policy is now disabled unless the user has been granted permission to do so.

Scan Sheets

  • We’ve addressed a limitation with the IChannel Scan sheets, which previously could only be used once. Now, users can reuse Scan sheets multiple times, enhancing flexibility and efficiency in their workflow.

Files Display

  • Files will now display in the upload window.

 

Zip Files: Password

  • We’ve improved the user experience by removing the password requirement for Zip files when copied to email. This change simplifies the process, making it quicker and more convenient for users to share Zip files.

My Task Widget: Assignments now display

  • Assignments will now be visible on the dashboard under My Task.

Miscellaneous Bug Fixes or Enhancements

  • Users can now visibly see their favorites; the Stars icon is now on the dashboard.

  • Sub-items will show as checked when requesting an item.

  • It was reported that Recent files were not shown on a wide on the dashboard. This issue is now resolved, and recent files are showing.

  • It was reported that an error would appear when editing a file's properties. This issue is now resolved, and the user will no longer experience the error message.

  • Performance issue: The Portal Help Center was experiencing a delay. This issue is now resolved, and the help page loads more responsively.

  • We’ve enhanced the user experience by adding a warning message that appears if a file does not exist. This improvement helps users quickly identify and address issues, ensuring a smoother and more efficient workflow.

  • We’ve enhanced the user experience by adding “how many files” to a client’s workflow.

  • The user reported an error message with Activities hyperlinks. This error message has been resolved and will no longer appear.

 

  • To improve the user experience, Users will now get a friendlier error message indicating what the error is related to is when a file is unlocked.

 

  • The Override Global Permission option has been disabled.

  • Removed Secure PDF option in the client file area is no longer a Channel feature.

  • Clients are now able to see the additional email textbox that was hidden

  • It was reported that the Tag Editor's multiple functions were not working as designed. This issue is now resolved and is now working as expected.

 

Content Search

  • the Content Search screen functionality has been successfully resolved. Initially, users encountered problems while searching for specific file categories. The search function was not returning any results or not functioning correctly. The issue was prevalent across the platform.

  • The Search function should now work as expected when searching by 'Site ID', leading to improved accuracy and user experience. This issue prevented the system from providing accurate results, significantly impacting the user experience.

Notifications

  • Users experienced an issue where no email was sent during the file upload process using the auto-publish feature. Users should now experience far smoother and more efficient workflows, without any missing communication concerning file uploads and publishing.

iFetch

  • We’ve resolved an error that occurred when using iFetch (Direct Mode) to open files. With this fix, files open successfully, ensuring a smoother and more reliable user experience.

 

Miscellaneous Bug Fixes or Enhancements

  • To improve the user experience, users can combine Tags and Categories when filtering to show the selected files.

 

 

  • A ticket was submitted stating that users couldn’t select a date for emails and files in the Date Picker window. This issue has been resolved, and users can now choose dates directly from the Date Picker window.

 

  • Categorized emails will now be saved in the file area.

  • Before this release, the permanent link feature didn’t allow multiple files when users uploaded files. This issue has been resolved, and users can now add various files when uploading using the permanent link feature.

  • MSG files can now be added to the File Area.

  • It was reported that the email page's UI alignment was off. This issue has been resolved.

 

iChannel Email Management

  • Emails will be sent out when a document is autorouted or manually routed.

Dashboard

  • It was reported that when changes were made to a Dashboard, the Dashboard would not update with the new changes. This issue is now resolved.

 

.Retention Module: Tax Year (Admin only)

  • To improve the user experience, the tax year will now appear on files when retained.

 

Workflows

  • To improve the user experience, the Workflow file tabs will now appear in the file area.

 

Tags

  • An issue was reported: When a new stage was created, it did not appear in the Tags section of the file area. This issue is now resolved.

Save Filters

  • To improve the user experience, the Save Filters in the file area will show in categories and tags.

IChannel Dashboard: Disable Widgets

  • When clients disable widgets for the dashboard, iChannel no longer disables them for all root sites.

UI Enhancements

  • To improve the user experience, we’ve enhanced the UI on the Tag editor page.

 

IChannel Portal: Reassigning sites

  • Reassigning sites to portal users was resolved in the workflow. The error will no longer occur.

 

IChannel Portal: Submit Files

  • We fixed an issue on the portal when a portal user tries to submit a file and email. The email entry will check if the email is valid before sending it.

 

iChannel Retention Module (Admin’s only)

  • To improve the user experience when many files need to be deleted and/or archived in the Retention module and to improve performance, those files can be deleted without any time-out issues.

 

 

Subscriber Page

  • Subscriber detail page license count: no more extended changes when going to the next page.

 

Manual Sweep

  • To provide a more straightforward message for the user, the language on the pop-up window has been updated to be more user-friendly and intuitive when using the Manual Autosweep feature.

 

Copy Internal Link

  • The Product team resolved an issue with the internal copy feature not working in the workflow.

 

Caseware Files

  • Caseware settings will now show the option to count caseware files.
