Desktop What’s New with Doc.it v5.1 (December 2024) Version:
The main focus of release v5.1 was upgrading the Custom Fields, and fixing bugs for a better user experience. We understand that a seamless user experience is crucial, and this update is tailored to ensure just that. We've meticulously addressed various issues reported by our users, ironing out wrinkles and improving the overall stability of our platform. With this release, we're committed to providing a smoother, more reliable, and enjoyable experience.

Custom Fields | This feature introduces the ability to add three external ID fields to client profiles, allowing users to include custom columns specifically tailored to their needs. This enhancement provides greater flexibility in organizing and managing client information, enabling users to track and reference unique identifiers specific to their business processes.  |
This update allows Autofile to incorporate additional custom columns in the client table. Users now have the flexibility to add two external ID fields, enabling more personalized and detailed client information management.

Batch Binder for Portal | This feature enhances the batch binder functionality by enabling the export of Portal binders. Users can now efficiently export multiple binders in batch mode, streamlining the process of handling large volumes of documentation.

Desktop Connector | The issue of the suite spontaneously closing while working on an Excel spreadsheet and Word document has been resolved. Users can now work on their documents without unexpected interruptions.

PDF Editor | The issue with the default font settings not persisting has been resolved. Now, when users set a default font, it will remain consistent across all documents. |
The recurring error that occurred when sending a PDF by email has been resolved. Users can send PDFs without encountering any issues.  | |
Outlook Plugin | The issue with files being moved instead of copied to the 'Sent to Docit' folder has been resolved. Now, when users send files to this folder they will be copied, not moved.

On-Prem | The issue preventing firms from submitting change license requests has been resolved. Firms can now successfully submit these without any problems. |
The capability to search by specific folder has been added to the Document search field. Users can now efficiently locate files within designated folders.

The issue with the on-prem server failing to update the Doc.it license from the Cloud been resolved. Users can now successfully update their on-prem license without any errors. | |
The issue causing publication jobs to get stuck on dispatch has been resolved. Jobs can now be processed and dispatched smoothly without any interruptions. | |
The issue with Docit not starting properly after a reboot has been resolved. The application now launches and operates as expected post-reboot. | |
The issue with the Binder Explorer Stage due date not appearing properly in CaseWare files has been resolved. The due now display correctly within the application as expected.  | |
The issue with backend maintenance jobs spiking memory and crashing the server has been resolved. The jobs now run efficiently without causing memory overloads or server crashes. | |
Portal | The issue of Portal folders not displaying in the desired order has been resolved. Folders now appear in the order by the end user.

The token issue causing an unknown error message when logging into the cloud portal has been resolved. Users can now log in successfully without any error messages. | |
The backend issues with the portal have been resolved. The portal now functions smoothly and reliably without any interruptions. | |
Editing users will update as expected  | |
Miscellaneous Bugs | The issue where archive policies produced an error when attempting to finalize. Users can now finalize these policies without encountering any errors.  |
Autofiling will now leave spaces in the file name when moving to archives | |
Performance with loading documents and applications has been improved. | |
User’s that don’t have permission to delete and lock binders have been greyed out | |
Exporting excel files will now remove the temp file from the folder after saving. | |
View only settings will now restrict users from editing binders in Suite. | |
Client permissions for Client Security will now show under maintenance

The performance for uploading 5-8MB files has improved, resulting in faster processing times.  | |
The binder locking and unlocking function is now operating correctly as intended.

Filters in Universal Reporter for Default Client Layouts are now functioning as expected. Users can effectively apply filters to refine their reports according to their specific needs.

The resolution quality when zooming has been improved, allowing for higher resolution viewing during zoom.

The issue causing the suite to close unexpectedly without any error message has been resolved. Users can now continue their work without interruptions. | |
The issue preventing complex domains from being entered as email addresses for new users has been resolved. Users can now register with any valid email domain without encountering errors.
